2012 Blogging Recap

2012 has been an amazing year for me.

I discovered my favourite book of all time – Entwined by Heather Dixon. Unfortunately I haven’t written a review for it because I have a policy of only writing fresh reviews and I read it before I started my blog – I’d have to re-read it and I have too many book to my to-reads list to yet begin re-reading.

I made some awesome new friends on Goodreads.

I’ve had books sent to me by authors, publishers, and other bloggers.

I’ve received my first personally signed book.

I’ve sent books to other bloggers.

Blog stats for 2012:

I started this blog in July

I already have over 50 followers.

I’ve had over 600 comments.

I’ve published over 100 posts including book reviews and memes.

Reviews:

I’ve written 35 reviews:

  • 9 five star reviews.
  • 14 four star reviews
  • 6 three star reviews.
  • 6 two star reviews.
  • 0 one star reviews – let’s hope that continues, because I really don’t like reading books I don’t like.

~I’ve read close to 80 books this year.

I’ve put down three books unfinished that I won’t be writing reviews for.

I’ve reviewed the following genres:

Fantasy: 12

Dystopian: 7

Contemporary: 4

Urban fantasy: 4

Picture book: 3

Paranormal romance: 2

Graphic novel: 2

Memoir: 1

I have read:

30 young adult books

5 adult books

I have purchased:

At least 30 books since I started blogging. That’s when I started keeping a not-entirely accurate record, although I’m not very good at it (but I plan to be better). I bought more than this before I started blogging.

Although I read Entwined this year and it gave me a book high that lasted for 3 months, I haven’t yet found the Book of the Year for 2012. I need to read more books published in 2012. Luckily I currently have over 100 of the to read, so I am sure I will find a Book High Book for 2012 some time in 2013.

I look forward to 2013 and all the amazing books I will read, people I will meet and other awesome stuff I will do! I hope you’ll join me here at the Moonlight Library.

Remember, the Cuddlebuggery Top Cuddles of 2012 giveaway hop is now on! Go here to win two books from my favourite author, Maria V Snyder.
