This week’s topic:

If you could be any animal (real or mythical), what would it be, and why?

A unicorn! Because they are awesome. Seriously.

Do you know the myth about unicorns? They have magical blood. And their horns are pure magic that can cure poisoned water and heal the sick.

To see Marcy Kennedy’s (writer extraordinaire and one of my favourite bloggers) more detailed post on unicorns, click here. For now, here’s an excerpt:

“[Unicorn] horn[s] soon became known as the bane of evil. A unicorn horn could drive away evil, neutralize poison, and kill any monster it came into contact with. Both their horn and their blood were said to have healing properties.

In China, unicorns came to symbolize wisdom. They were the kings among the animals. In the United Kingdom, they symbolized purity and many kings made them part of their heraldry.”

But unicorns don’t care. They’re all just like, ‘Yeah, I’m a herbivore. I eat grass and shit. I just live in the woods and live my normal life. And sometimes virgin girls come along and I like them, so I’ll go over and say hello.”

In the Sims 3 (of which I am playing way too much instead of reading because I got Seasons for Christmas) there is an expansion pack called Pets, of which you can adopt a unicorn. It’s hard work, but totally worth it. Sims unicorns can teleport, light things on fire, bless or curse player’s Sims… they are also superior horses because their needs deplete slower at night. They leave a sparkling trail while running.

Here’s a really cool online game to play: Robot Unicorn Attack.

What about you? What kind of animal would you like to be?
