Book Blogger Confessions #7

Book Blogger Confessions is a meme every 1st and 2nd Monday hosted by Karen from For What It’s Worth and the Midnyte Reader.
It’s where book bloggers “confess” and vent about topics that are unique to us.
Feel free to share, vent and offer solutions, and remember to visit For What It’s Worth or the Midnyte Reader for other confessions!

This week’s confession:

We’ve discussed blogging slumps before but have you ever seriously considered throwing in the towel and quitting blogging? If so, what changed your mind? Did you discuss it with other bloggers?

Here’s a secret no one knows: I actually did host another blog. I quit that blog to start this one because I didn’t like where the old one was going. I wanted complete freedom as a book blogger and that’s what I have now. Basically no one knows who I am (which makes is especially interesting when people online and from real life follow me) and I want it to stay that way. I have absolutely had it with being afraid on the internet.

I didn’t discuss this with many other bloggers. I talked it over with my husband for a long time, and I contacted another blogger who was quitting for the same reason – pretty much to help solidify why I was doing it and what I wanted out of this blog. Otherwise it was entirely up to me.

I haven’t considered quitting blogging full stop because I simply love books so much and I love to share that love and find new love and squee over old love. I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t just stop seeing all my friends and remove myself entirely from this community.
