I need somewhere to celebrate this personal milestone since it’s directly related to my blogging.
Today I received an email from a big publisher asking me if I wanted anything to review from their catalogue.
Out of the blue.
I didn’t email them first.
The Moonlight Library isn’t a big blog. We don’t get 100 views a day. I do next to no ‘marketing’ – I don’t pimp the blog, I’m barely active on Twitter, I only host two giveaways a year because that’s all I can afford, and I’m not even self-hosted. I find it hard to make connections because I’m an introvert who’s convinced no one cares about my opinion and therefore I tend to lurk on other blogs rather than leave comments.
Lately I’ve been wondering if all of this hard work blogging is worth the smaller-than-I-want response when I see blogs purely dedicated to tour hosting and giveaways doing better than mine.
No longer do I wonder.
It’s the first time a publisher has approached me, and it’s made me absolutely giddy with happiness and feeling very special.
All in all I feel like your typical YA heroine, all ‘who, me?’ when the hot guy makes eyes at her.

(that’s Dakota Johnson biting her lip, who’s recently been cast as Anastacia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. As we all know, Anastacia has a problem gnawing on her own lip, like a lot of other YA heroines.)

Congrats! And well done 🙂

Thank you, I’m a little bit in shock to be honest. Just when I was wondering if all that hard work was worth the effort.

Congratulations! Shall we throw a party? 😀

YES! You bring the tunes, I’ll bring the dip.

Old skool rockin’ tunes, you got it!

Congrats! It’s 100% worth it if you enjoy doing it – whether many people read it or not 🙂
