Despite Project Animorphs in 2013, I clearly do not talk about Animorphs enough.
This particular challenge is taken from the Heck Yeah Tumblr Challenges archive on Tumblr.

Day 21: It’s natural for a leader to make some mistakes. What are some mistakes you think Jake made in the war against the Yeerks?

2. I think the biggest mistake Jake made was letting Tom live so long. I know it’s horrible to say, but leaving Tom a host/slave really influenced him more than anything else. He wanted to save Tom but kill the Yeerk, but as Tom was the body of a high-ranking Yeerk, he could never be allowed to go free. I think Tom’s predicament distracted Jake more than it would have if he’d manned up and murdered his brother.
