Welcome to the Moonlight Library’s 30 Day Animorphs Challenge!
Despite Project Animorphs in 2013, I clearly do not talk about Animorphs enough.
This particular challenge is taken from the Heck Yeah Tumblr Challenges archive on Tumblr.

Day 28: The Ellimist or Crayak?

Overall I’d vote for the Ellimist, because he’s supposed to be the good guy, and I love that his mission was to spread life and peace and love throughout the galaxy. I would love to see more on the Pemalites, as they seem like such an amazing race. Especially after reading the Ellimist Chronicles, I really feel for him. The lonely god.

I do get annoyed at his games and his weaselly ways, because I never did quite work out how offering to take the Animorphs to the human zoo in Book #7 was a legal move if he didn’t follow through with it, but I reckon there was some kind of arrangement with Crayak that let him do that, and the Animorphs seeing the escape. Maybe Crayak agreed to the offer in exchange for something else, but the caveat was that Ellimist could never follow through, and the whole point was to help the Animorphs find an escape at that point.

See? This is why he’s an inter-galactic space weasel. I love him.

Crayak is based on the Dark Lord Sauron from Lord of the Rings, so how can anyone ever root for him? Thankfully he’s bound by the same rules as the Ellimist, because you know, destruction of stuff, murder and mayhem, that all sucks balls. I never understand the motivation of someone who only wants to end the universe. So that what, you can cease to exist as well? If that’s the ultimate goal, why don’t you just go eliminate yourself and let the rest of us live in peace?
