Top Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

Since this week’s topic was a freebie, I decided to do last week’s topic.

This topic was covered in 2012, but back then it included series that hadn’t been completed. This time around it’s only about series that have finished publication and I am yet to finish.

Series I am still yet to finish that also appeared in my 2012 list (shame, shame!)

  1. The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie RyanThe Dark and Hollow Places (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #3)
Books read: Books 1 and 2
I have no excuse for not finishing this except that when I read the first book I legitimately didn’t know it was about zombies, which I absolutely hate, and I have no idea why I read the second book or even bought the third. I should just suck it up and finish the series.
  2. Bumped by Megan McCafferty
    Books read: Book 1
I have no excuse with this one either, except that I didn’t buy the sequel for a long time after I read the first book, and it’s there in my long list of books I will one day get to when my review pile is diminished.
  3. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
    Books read: Book 1
In my defence, Creagh took a long time between books, and I was waiting until the third one was published before I could read them all together.
  4. Hereafter by Tara Hudson
    Books read: Book 1
No excuses. Gorgeous covers. One of my favourite songs always makes me think of this book. I guess I just wonder how this weird romance can be stretched out over 3 books and still work, so I’ve been putting it off. I’ll get to them one day.

New series I am yet to finish that did not appear in my 2012 list

  1. His Fair Assassin by Robin LaFeversDark Triumph (His Fair Assassin, #2)
Books read: Book 1 (Grave Mercy)
Like most of the other books in my life, I’m super keen to read these last two, I just don’t have the time.
  2. Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater
Books read: Books 1-3 (Shiver, Linger, Forever)
In my defence, Sinner was only published fairly recently.
  3. Sky Chasers by Amy Kathleen Ryan
    Books read: Book 1 (Glow)
Like most of the above, simply haven’t had the time.
  4. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
    Books read: Book 1
I think since Book 1 so thoroughly eviscerated me and left me emotionally drained, I’m just unprepared to wade back into this imperfect world and perfect romance. I just don’t have the courage yet.
  5. Wings by Aprilynne Pike
Books read: Books 1-3 (Wings, Spells, Illusions)
I was borrowing these from the library and just haven’t been back to squeeze the final one in yet.
  6. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
    Books read: Book 1
This was also a library book, and I simply need to find the time to go again and actually get the reading done in the allotted time, but review books take priority.

What series are you yet to finish that you’d really like to?

I don’t necessarily think that one needs to be invested in an entire series – often the first book isn’t enough to get me to want to continue. but these are the ones I do want to finish. Eventually.

I’m really looking forward to having some time to be able to get through the second and third books. I really enjoyed the first one.

I just hate zombies and can’t think of anything worse to read about, but I guess some of my horror-loving husband rubbed off on me. I do own the final book so I feel like I should read it, and I am kinda interested in finishing the story. It’s just, ugh, ZOMBIES?

I thought Across the Universe was OK – it did have some pretty big racial issues within – but I do really want to see what happens when they leave the damn ship.

Well, the first one is really good. I can’t recommend the second or third as I’ve not read them yet, but I do imagine they are equally as good.
