Welcome to Young Adult At Heart’s original feature Buy Borrow Burn.
It’s a fun game based on Snog Marry Avoid/Marry Kiss Kill.
If we had unlimited funds, which cover would be the one we’d buy*, borrow, or burn**?
*This is completely subjective and my favourite cover may not be yours.
**In no way do we wish to insult anyone and no, we wouldn’t actually ‘burn’ the book, this is completely hypothetical.
Let me know which book cover you’d Buy Borrow or Burn!
This week’s book covers:
Four: A Divergent Collection (Divergent, #0.1-0.4)
by Veronica Roth
Buy
HarperCollin 2014 paperback
I like the use of the burning Ferris wheel as the most important image. I think the cityscape being at a jaunty angle looks pretty cool, too, and the clouds in the background are a nice contrast.
Borrow
German 2014
I love how the train makes this complete circle, what with circles being a major theme in this series’ covers. I think that the cityscape being at an even jauntier angle than the previous cover is pretty cool, it kind of throws you off balance a bit, I guess a bit like this book, which no one expected. I mean, what kind of a trilogy has 4 books?
Burn
HarperCollins 2014 paperback
Because Four was really the hero all along, get it? GET IT?
Which out of these three covers would you buy, borrow, or burn?
Just a quick note – this will be the last weekly installment of Buy Borrow Burn. It will return occasionally to the blog in the future.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the last 20 installments!

What a great feature! I totally agree with your choices, the burning Ferris wheel was definitely the best touch.

Thanks, there’s just something about that image. I haven’t read the book yet, but I do remember the Ferris wheel being an important feature in the first book.

I completely agree with your choices! I just like carnival things in general, like ferris wheels, and it relates to the story so well and looks so pretty! But the third cover doesn’t even follow the whole circle theme of the other covers.

The third cover does match the previous covers in this set, I’m just so annoyed at the male love interest developing into a lead and taking over Tris’ story.
