August Wrap Up

month 08 16

News

It was my birthday this month! I hit the big 3-0. This would be the time in The Sims where I aged up between Young Adult and Adult. I can’t believe I’m not a young adult anymore! I still feel like I’m seventeen! Or at least twenty.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping for the past few months. I’ll wake up five or more times a night, I’m exhausted during the day and I sleep all weekend. On my birthday I took the day off work to spend time with my husband. We decided to go for a drive around our beautiful state, and at about mid-afternoon I was getting tired and sleepy. Without realising how tired I was, I fell asleep at the wheel while driving home down a highway. It was only for a second. I woke up just before the car was due to hit the barrier, which would have caused a lot of damage and hurt both of us, and managed to twist the wheel so that only the rear tire hit the curb and busted open the tire. I didn’t swerve, I maintained control of the car without putting anyone else in danger and came to stop at the bottom of the hill in am emergency stop and calmly called the automobile experts to come change my tire.

Before you ask, yes, everyone was OK and yes, I am going to see a doctor about it.

Having that experience, such a dangerous near-death experience has caused me to rethink a couple of things in my life. Mostly, I’ve been focusing so hard on this book blog that I don’t have time for my other hobbies, so I’m going to try to step back a little bit and enjoy other aspects of my life.
