Top Ten Eight Books On My Fall Spring TBR List
Since I’m in the southern hemisphere, spring is in the air! It’s that weird time of year where we’re bombarded with northern hemisphere culture like autumn colours, orange pumpkins, and Halloween, yet we’re emerging out of wintertime and new lambs are gambolling in the paddocks.
I only have eight books for this Top Ten list since I’m going through a really horrific reading slump and I don’t want to commit or get excited about more than I can handle. As it is, I’ve only read seven books so far this year, so already this list is longer than what I’m capable of handling at the moment.
The Glass Spare (The Glass Spare, #1) by Lauren DeStefano
I have all of Lauren’s books, she’s one of my favourite authors, and I need to read this ASAP because it’s about a PRINCESS and we all know how much I love reading about PRINCESSES.
Forest of a Thousand Lanterns (Rise of the Empress, #1) by Julie C. Dao
I love female anti-heroes, and this one sounds awesome because it’s about a girl’s quest to become Empress by eating the hearts of the recently murdered. I believe it is a retelling of Snow White’s evil stepmother’s backstory, which seems to be the ‘in thing’ at the moment.
A Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke
A girl’s quest to stop a plague. It’ set in the frozen north where people read signs in the aurora. I love the aurora. Therefore, I must read this.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust
An awesome sounding retelling of Snow White, or at least the part where the stepmother-queen turns against Snow.
La Belle Sauvage (The Book of Dust #1) by Philip Pullman
The Book of Dust I’ve been waiting for, literally, years.
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
A Christmas Carol reimagining with a spoiled girl as the ghost of Christmas Past. Yes please!
One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns, #2) by Kendare Blake
When I get out of this horrific reading slump that has lasted six months now, this one is near the top of my list.
Fireblood (Frostblood Saga, #2) by Elly Blake
I love fire and ice magic, and this is the sequel to a book I really enjoyed, so it’s up there on my short reading list.
What books are you looking forward to this spring or fall/autumn? Are any of them books on my list? Do you have any recommendations you think I might enjoy?

Inge
I’m really curious about Girls Made of Snow and Glass and Forest of a Thousand Lanterns as well! Happy reading, Nemo. ^_^
Nemo
I think I’m going to have to buy them. Thanks for stopping by, Inge!
