Gift Recommendations
Christmas is coming!
Last Christmas kind of sucked for me because my husband was in hospital recovering from emergency back surgery that left him hospitalised for two months and then disabled when he finally came home. I generally love Christmas. Not so much for the gift giving and receiving, though I do love that part too, I can’t help it, I love receiving books/book vouchers. The part I like best is being surrounded by family on a day dedicated to eating good food.
This week I’m going to recommend 3 Aussie Young Adult books I think would make great gifts!
Begin End Begin edited by Danielle Binks
A collection of short stories showcasing awesome Aussie YA authors is a great idea to introduce someone to Aussie fiction, or someone whom you think might like to read but not dedicate themselves to a whole full-length book.
The Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix.
I’m a huge advocate of this series and I think it’s one of the best things to ever come out of Australian literature. You could find the whole series in these incredibly gorgeous covers, you could gift the first or fourth book, or the first three. Whatever. Just share the love.
Captivate by Vanessa Garden
The perfect book for a hot Australian summer, dive into Captivate and experience the incredible glittering underwater world of Marin, where Miranda is kidnapped to become the queen and save the people.
