I’m a giant crybaby, so sharing just one book that made me cry isn’t really going to cut it.
In fact, I have an entire shelf on Goodreads dedicated to tracking books that made me cry.
Instead, I’ll share with you just the last book that made me cry:
In The Hysterical City by Andrea Berthot, the main character, Bonnie, is recovering from some pretty awful trauma sustained in the previous novel.
During a dinner scene, she is reminded of this trauma as the main villain rambles on about how much he admires what the perpetrator was capable of.
It was emotional and hard-hitting and I had to have a good sob right before bedtime.
Honourable mentions:
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
