Top Ten Books That I Refuse to Let Anyone Borrow

(submitted by Savannah Grace @ Scattered Scribblings)

Here’s my lending books horror story.

Once I lent my absolute favourite out of print books to a guy I was kind of dating. BIG MISTAKE. He moved away and I never got them back. I had mistakenly, excitedly, given him the cool cover version, too.

To top it all off, the books he lent me in return were… shall we say… NOT GOOD. I read all the way almost to the end then DNF’d in the last 20 pages or so. This was only the first book in the trilogy. I didn’t even crack the second and third.

I don’t lend my books to anyone anymore.

Besides, all of my books on display are ones I haven’t read. The ones I HAVE read are packed away in storage crates at the back of my garage. So if anyone asks to borrow anything they can see, I have to have this awkward, “Um… I haven’t read it yet, so no. SORRY!”

And if anyone asks to borrow anything they can’t see, I have to have this awkward, “Um… I think it’s packed away in storage…” thing.

So basically, don’t ask to borrow my books. The answer will be no.
