The Sims Book Tag

The original tag was created by Hayley @ Hayley in Bookland and you can see her original video here.

I’ve been playing a lot of The Sims 4 lately! Probably when I should be reading. Oh well!

This isn’t a spoiler at all, because I think Susie Salmon from The Lovely Bones is the saddest character death I’ve read. It happens at the beginning of the book and she spends the rest of it as a ghost. I remember when I read it, it was so horrible and confronting that I put the book down and sobbed into my confused husband’s arms.

River falls immediately head over heels for Fenrin, but absolutely disparages all the other girls who do as well. But i would argue that River never really loves Fen, she just wants to possess him. River is a terrible character, really. but that doesn’t make the book bad! It’s a great book, and I love it.

However, I will nominate Anything to Have You by Paige Harbison as unrealistic, because the main character is a wallflower who got nominated for Prom Queen (how can you get nominated if nobody knows your name?) and the end of year project she came up with was to convince other people to pay you to put their highly sentimental crap on a wall and take pictures with it, which the teacher said was ‘highly original’ and it just sounds like the worst end of year project ever. Who’s going to a) pay you to b) take away something they really care about and c) possibly damage it to d) just get a photo? THAT was unrealistic.

Bad decisions:

  1. Betray everyone (allegedly) for no reason.
  2. Leave for America after a minor argument with her sister
  3. Come home from America when sister goes missing.
  4. NOT investigate, even though she says she is.
  5. Get a job in a city nowhere near sister’s disappearance.
  6.  Visit the crime scene in the middle of a storm and NOT investigate, also not return.
  7. Take irrelevant ‘evidence’ to the police.
  8. Confront the last person who saw her sister for no reason.
  9. I’m sure there were other bad decisions, I just can’t remember them.

Book 1 was SO STRONG and wonderful. By Book 3 I was wondering… who are these characters?

I’m so obsessed with the Sims and have been since like 2001 🙂 This tag was pretty much made for me because books + Sims… it just combines 2 of my most loved things (and things that have taken up sooo much of my time).

I totally agree about All Right Reserved!! I loved that book and really need to read the sequel!

I have loved the Sims for almost that long, too! But I always get into the current gen too late. You should do this tag! Also, the sequel to All Rights Reserved? Not as good as the original, but still very satisfying.
