Dark Heart Forever by Lee Monroe
Jane Jonas is nearing her 16th birthday and troubled by unsettling recurring dreams where the same mysterious boy her age comes to her, telling Jane that they are each other’s destiny. Her mother is becoming anxious about Jane’s disruptive sleepwalking episodes, but for Jane her dream world and reality are about to collide.
I accidentally purchased Book 3 a few years ago, and as I was going through my books recently, I thought I might just give it away to someone, maybe a secondhand bookstore. But I checked a few different places and found some secondhand copies of Book 1 and 2 in a bundle, so I bought them! I understand this is a very typical 2010-ish YA paranormal but honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what I want.
Dark Heart Rising (Dark Hearts #2) by Lee Monroe
When challenges and threats from the immortal world of Nissilim rip the Jane and Luca apart, Jane is bereft. Without Luca’s dancing green eyes, and gentle smile, Jane feels lost, sad and alone. But then a trip to Paris with her grandmother thrusts her into the path of the amiable Soren – a kindred spirit who may be the distraction she needs.
And Book #2.
