Purchased
Fire with Fire by Destiny Soria
Flushed with cash from a tax return AND fortnightly pay check on the same day, I headed to my favourite bookshop.
Never mind that I have 600 books waiting for me to read them – and that’s just the physical ones.
This was the only book that sounded interesting to me: an urban fantasy about sister dragon slayers, one of whom develops a bond with a dragon! I lover stories about sisters and best friends, but I also love deep animal bond as well, so I’m quite excited for this!
Borrowed
Shannon Hale has written some middle grade novels that I’m aware of but haven’t read. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever read a Shannon Hale book.
But this one is a YA (I think!) about a girl who dropped out of school to chase her Broadway dream then wound up as a nanny, only to fall into books and become part of the story. I’m watching reruns of The Nanny at the moment, so I was drawn to this. I’m always interested in books where ‘real world’ characters interact with fictional ones, so that’s a bonus too.
I borrowed this from my local library on audio.
