Hi, I’m Nemo!

I live in a truly beautiful part of regional Australia (ie corner of No and Where) with my imported husband and three two adorably cuddly black cats. By day I work full-time in an office, and by night I turn into a vigilante kitten snuggler. That’s why you’ll find cats hidden all over this blog!

I also have a degree in English Literature, but you won’t find academic, literary interpretations here! It’s all about the enjoyment of reading.

I have been reviewing books since 2010, but I rebranded in 2012 with the launch of the Moonlight Library. I work with Australian publishers such as Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury, Scholastic, Pan Macmillan, Walker Books, Harlequin, and Allen & Unwin. I am a regular user of Netgalley and Edelweiss, and I also work with small presses and independent authors. I review ebooks, audiobooks, and physical copies.

I love reading books written for women by women, and I especially love Young Adult spec fic and contemporary, with a strong preference for fantasy. I’m especially drawn to novels about princesses, female friendships, magical powers, healing, and assassins. My favourite authors are Lauren DeStefano, Maria V Snyder, Heather Dixon Wallwork, Andrea Berthot, Sara Barnard, and CJ Archer.

Apart from being buried in books, I also knit, complete jigsaw puzzles, kick ass as the reigning MarioKart queen, and watch Netflix with my husband. I also love playing Pokemon games and often choose the fire type as my team starter.

I have a fondness for vanilla bean ice cream, Galaxy chocolate, sparkly things, the Sims, makeup, nail polish, white hot chocolate, animated films, and lazy mornings snuggling in my epically comfortable dedicated library chair with a good book while my cats tag-team each other for cuddles.

I love Taylor Swift, and my favourite band is Nightwish, a symphonic metal band from Finland, which is where I get my non de plume Nemo Evermore from.

Why do I use an alias?

Check out why I use an alias in this post.

Do I really have purple curly hair?

Yes, I really do.
