Toppling the TBR Pile is an original Moonlight Library feature where I showcase the ‘older’ books I’ve ‘discovered’ and added to the tbr-pile.
I am defining ‘older’ as books published earlier than 2014.
What’s Toppling My TBR Pile This Week?
I read my first E Lockhart book, The Disreputable History of Frankie Laundau-Banks (what a mouthful!) and LOVED IT. Now I want to read the Ruby Oliver series, all of which also have very long titles:
- The Boyfriend List: 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs and Me, Ruby Oliver
- The Boy Book: A Study of Habits and Behaviors, Plus Techniques for Taming Them
- The Treasure Map of Boys: Noel, Jackson, Finn, Hutch, Gideon—and me, Ruby Oliver
- Real Live Boyfriends: Yes. Boyfriends, Plural. If My Life Weren’t Complicated, I Wouldn’t Be Ruby Oliver
I’m always looking for good Aussie YA fiction I can get my hands on, and I found The Midnight Dress by Karen Foxlee.
I realised I had a few of Sophie Masson’s books on my TBR pile without realising they were all linked by the same author, and when I went through her bibliography I found one more I wanted to read: The Tempestuous Voyage Of Hopewell Shakespeare.

I read my friend Jesse from Ageless Pages Reviews’ review of GRIM, the anthology edited by Christine Johnson I quite enjoyed, and she recommended Sarah Cross’s Kill Me Softly as a longer retelling to get stuck into.

Maranda Hymes
Seriously sorry for stalking you. I have that killing me softly one sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. Sadly it’s an ex library copy, something that wasn’t mentioned when i bought it online awhile back. 😛 The other two look really interesting, I may have to look into them!
Nemo
I don’t have a copy yet, it’s just a book I’m interested in reading.
Maranda H
If I ever get around to reading it I’d be happy to send it to you! Like I said it’s an exlibrary copy so not one that I’m overly worried about keeping.
Nemo
Thanks, that’s a very sweet offer.
