I agree all the way with Before I Fall. It was just awesome, and I loved Delirium from her, as well.

Lauren Oliver’s a pretty special author, I’m glad you agree.

I love seeing Sabriel on your list! I also chose to recommend young adult titles and included Sabriel as one of my fantasy recommendations. I haven’t read many of the others on your list (except Divergent), but I may need to check them out.

It’s great seeing Sabriel on lists, especially seeing as how it’s not recently published. I love that she’s still getting love.

Great recommendations. Something for everyone within YA! 🙂
Jess Gofton
Brilliant list! 😀 It’s great to see Sabriel, Grave Mercy and Touch of Power being recommended. ^__^

Shiver is absolute perfection. Maggie Stiefvater gosh anything by her is just amazing. 🙂
Can’t wait until I get around to reading Grave Mercy, Before I Fall and Unearthly!

You have many books on your list that I love. Vampire Academy is amazing, not as much as Bloodlines but I still love it. Before I Fall was more deeper than I thought it will be, I loved it so much. I liked Unearthly a lot, but it wasn’t my favorite. Shiver is one of the most emotional paranormal books.
Great list, here’s mine: http://www.reading-is-dreaming-with-open-eyes.blogspot.hu/2014/08/top-ten-books-id-give-to-readers-who.html#more

It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but I’ve actually not read any of these books. I do, however, want to read Sabriel and Grave Mercy. I’m also somewhat interested in Vampire Academy and Divergent. Of late I’ve been looking for some sci-fi books, so I’m curious about Glow now. Anyway, great list – I like how you broke the list down.

Thank you. Do you consider yourself exclusively a YA reader? I would be surprised if you do. But not all of these are massively popular, although I do think they each hold a particularly well done introduction to their sub-genres.
Lea @ YA Book Queen
Loved BEFORE I FALL, VA, DIVERGENT, UNEARTHLY, and SHIVER! I keep meaning to start GRAVE MERCY, since everyone seems to adore that book!
Awesome choices 🙂

Oh yes, I struggled with Grave Mercy at first and had to read it all in one go. it was worth it in the end though, lovely book.

I am a big fan of SABRIEL (the whole series), too! Fun list. I hope this gets people reading.

Fabulous list. I completely agree with pretty much every book you mentioned, especially Vampire Academy and Grave Mercy. Thanks for sharing!

You touched base with a variety of subgenres in YA in this list, so there’s definitely something for everyone! And from what I can gather, billowy dresses still seems like an “in” cover trend!
Cheers,

I think the ‘billowy dresses’ is more a me thing. I’m a sucker for a pretty white girl in a prom dress cover, and I picked the artwork I liked best for these books.
