Welcome to the Moonlight Library’s new original feature, Buy Borrow Burn.
It’s a fun game based on Snog Marry Avoid/Marry Kiss Kill.
If we had unlimited funds, which cover would be the one we’d buy*, borrow, or burn**?
*This is completely subjective and my favourite cover may not be yours.
**In no way do we wish to insult anyone and no, we wouldn’t actually ‘burn’ the book, this is completely hypothetical.
Let me know which book cover you’d Buy Borrow or Burn!
This week’s book covers:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
by JK Rowling
Buy
Scholastic’s 15th Anniversary edition
I’d love this as a poster. I just love it. It’s perfectly proportioned, and all the glowing and wind and the moon looks awesome. Even though it does nothing to convey who or what the Half Blood Prince is or what it even has to do with the plot, I just think Dumbledore and Harry are so iconic. I think it would even appeal to a non-Potterhead, because there’s a traditional-looking wizard standing with a young boy who is clearly a wizard himself, and I think that’s a recognisable enough image to pique someone’s interest.
Borrow
Bloomsbury Adult edition
I love the battered old potions book, and at least the book itself has to do with the Half Blood Prince and the mystery surrounding that enigma. I’d proudly borrow this from my library.
Burn
Scholastic 2005
TOO. MUCH. GREEN.
Which out of these three covers would you buy, borrow, or burn?

Hebe
I do like that second cover – old battered books are always a win for me.
Nemo
I think it’s a pretty good representation of what the old potions book might have really looked like, so I really like it.
